Job Crafting

"Job crafting" is a process that allows employees to customize their jobs to better align with their skills, values, and goals. Job crafters take ownership of their roles and responsibilities, and make changes to their job without needing managerial input or permission. Job crafting can help employees grow professionally and personally, and may lead to increased motivation, job satisfaction, and productivity.

A nurse may change the manner or process she/he uses to care for patients. A retail worker may change the way they greet customers. A designer may use new tools or technologies. By giving employees freedom to "do the job they see best" and measuring them on results we can empower people to make work more meaningful and productive.
