Contract Worker or Contractor
“Contract workers” are a subset of the contingent workforce. A contractor is an independent worker who is hired for a short-term temporary engagement. Contract workers can be independent contractors who work as entrepreneurs offering services to multiple employers, or indirect employees of an establishment who are hired, supervised, and remunerated by a contractor who, in turn is compensated by the establishment.
