Augmented Reality

“Augmented reality” (AR) combines a real-world setting with digital content and information. AR overlays the existing physical environment with computer-generated visual, auditory, or other sensory information. Some of the most popular examples of AR are in the hugely popular gaming rage Pokémon Go, Facebook’s recently launched metaverse—Meta, and Google’s search engine, which allows users to place 3D digital objects and animals right into their own space directly from Search or from websites on Chrome.

Augmented reality enhances the experiences of individuals’ interactions with the real environment. The concept of AR is being increasingly translated for use in corporate training to enable consistent, scalable, immersive, and collaborative experiences where individuals can learn, develop skills, and make mistakes in a safe space.
