Since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, HR professionals in the Josh Bersin Academy have been navigating new decisions, questions, and ideas together. Here’s a quick roundup of what they’ve been talking about this month:
Checking in with employees: During these uncertain times, HR professionals are finding new ways to understand how employees are coping and determine what they need. One JBA member shared some pulse surveys her team put together to assess how employees feel about remote work. She’s asking for insight from others as she creates new survey questions to learn how employees feel about going back to the office.
Reimagining performance management: Is it fair to assess employee performance during a global crisis? Is it fair not to? JBA members are working together in the Community to determine how to best adjust their performance management practices. They're also diving deeper into this topic by participating in the new Learner Journey: Responding to Covid-19.
Going back to the office: As governments begin to lift stay-at-home orders, many JBA members are seeking guidance as they create back-to-work plans. How should we decide which teams to bring back to the office first? Members are offering helpful suggestions, such as: determine the risk profiles for employees, identify the teams that are least able to thrive while working from home, and experiment with creating shift schedules in the office.
